QAA
“Quality Education is highly expected in every aspect of human life including, social, political, economic, personal and professional as it widens the route for a Transformative Society”
IQAC Body, KUSOED
Kathmandu University School of Education (KUSOED) is an institution accredited by the University Grants Commission (UGC). If you're wondering, 'WHAT IS THIS?' you're not alone. The UGC was established to promote, facilitate, support, and enhance the quality of higher education in the country. To achieve these goals, the UGC has implemented a Quality Assurance Accreditation (QAA) system aimed at bringing about revolutionary and qualitative changes in higher education. KUSOED has received this prestigious award, which reflects our strength.
The system of Quality Assurance and Accreditation (QAA) in Nepal has consistently contributed to maintaining the quality of education since its establishment in 2007 AD. We adhere to the QAA guidelines developed by a 21-member Quality Assurance and Accreditation Council (QAAC), chaired by the UGC Chair. This council comprises experts, representatives from professional councils, industrialists, and students. The Quality Assurance and Accreditation Division (QAAD) has been entrusted with overseeing the entire QAA process in Nepal.
The Quality Assurance and Accreditation (QAA) unit at Kathmandu University School of Education (KUSOED) is overseen by the Research and Innovation Center (RIC), led by Dr. Rebat Kumar Dhakal, who serves as the Coordinator of RIC. This unit was established following the receipt of the Accreditation Award from the University Grants Commission (UGC).
The KUSOED QAA unit has been operating since 2018 in conjunction with an Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), consisting of 12 members, led by the Dean of the school. The primary objective of KUSOED's IQAC is to enhance the quality of academic and administrative audit processes within the institution, ensuring the ongoing quality and rigor of its programs. Additionally, it seeks to foster a culture of quality and implement best practices.
In accordance with the UGC Guidelines, specifically the 'Directives for Internal Quality Assurance of Higher Education Institutions, 2020' (referred to as IQAC Directives, 2020), the KUSOED IQAC Guidelines have been developed. These guidelines are aligned with KUSOED's Academic Audit Guidelines for 2022, which further contribute to maintaining the academic standards of the courses, programs, and services offered by KUSOED.
