Blended Learning at KUSOED
All the Master and PGDE classes of School of Education are run in blended mode. This is to say, students participate in virtual learning platforms both synchronously (with real-time lectures, discussions, and assignments) and asynchronously (by accessing learning resources on the learning management platforms and using flexible, independent schedules). The general pedagogical provision for blended learning includes the following aspects:
-
Classes are run on Google Meet with a recording license for each faculty member or alternatively on other digital (meeting) platforms;
-
Students get the opportunity to access learning resources and records of the virtual classes on the School’s Learning Management System (Moodle platform);
-
At least 20% of the content in all the programs and courses will be delivered in the physical setting of School of Education, Hattiban, Lalitpur. The physical classes are organized at least one week a semester. Such classes are mandatory and will be scheduled in prior consultation with the students;
-
During the on-campus classes, the concerned Department provides students the day-time meal at the University canteen;
-
The end-semester assessments of the practice-oriented courses are held in a face-to-face setting. The concerned Department will schedule such assessments in consultation with the students;
-
The pedagogical modalities specific to the courses are developed and shared by the concerned faculty members;
-
Students who have physical access to the University are encouraged to visit their concerned departments, participate in on-campus activities, consult their faculty mentors, and utilize the library resources.
